March 8: International Women’s Day Event
A Conversation on Syrian Women Refugee Struggles
Sahar Aboelnaga will share her experiences assisting newly arrived refugee women and their families to London. Several women with this lived experience will be joining her. We are keeping this event small and intimate so as not to overwhelm our new friends and citizens who have already been through so much.
Donations are welcome to aid in their transition to life in Canada.
Artwork: “The Blue Woman” – A refugee camp in Jordan called Al Zaatari Project Camp opened a year ago and delivers amazing reflective paintings every week .The camp encourages refugees to paint their thoughts and beliefs as a constant attempt to feel better and the results are breathtaking. This one reflects how they feel hopeless to act, so they seek a solution by asking God to guide them. The photo shows how happy the paintings make the children and raise their hopes towards a better future.
